Based close to Newcastle Airport in Kirkley, the practice is ideally located to serve clients in Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead, Northumberland, Durham, Chester le Street, Sunderland and the Tyne Valley. While working locally in Gosforth and Jesmond, projects are ongoing as far afield as Ilkley in West Yorkshire and Falkirk in Scotland. Jonathan Bone Architect Limited enthusiastically approach each project as a unique response to the aspirations of a client, designed within the context of existing buildings, with respect for a sustainable environment and the technological detail of construction. Clients are encouraged to achieve more than they might have hoped possible, always with a keen eye to finances. Current projects range from a sensitively designed extension of an early twentieth century house focussing on materiality and detail composition of the facade, to the wholesale restoration, conservation and upgrading of a large 1930s house involving major structural work and using high quality materials to make modern interventions in a green belt context. The practice is nearing the completion of an office conversion from an industrial workshop to create a rural enterprise hub in the heart of Rothbury, Northumberland.
