In my early 20’s I had the opportunity to practise in India, and for 6 weeks practised intensively with a student of the late BKS Iyengar. Here I learned to respect the physical body, find the body’s natural alignment and limits. During my mid to late 20’s I realised that I had gained so much more than just physical benefits from my regular practise. I appreciated that I felt better able to lead my life, that my mental capacities were improved and more balanced, and that my life was just easier with a regular yoga practise in it. Through my early to mid 30’s I used yoga through my pregnancies. During this phase I fell in love with the soothing, nourishing and relaxing effects of the breath, plus the ability of the physical moves to make space available inside my body.
