David was a Therapist in the pioneering National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) specialist child sexual abuse team in Gloucester 1988-1992. He was the Child Care/Child Protection Training Officer for Gloucestershire Social Services 1992-2000. He was chair of the Charity: Survivors Of Child Abuse (S.O.C.A.) before becoming the Head of Children’s Services. At SOCA he ran two projects, one funded by the Government Home Office providing therapy for children who had witnessed domestic violence; the other providing therapy for children who had experienced sexual, physical or emotional abuse. He was also a member of the management committee of RELATE (The Relationship People) Gloucester. Since 2004 he has worked in private practice providing therapy, relationship counselling, consultancy, assessments, training and EMDR.
