Hey, I'm Scott, Born in York I now photograph weddings across the UK and Europe. I have always been drawn to the interactions with people and that's why I photograph weddings the way I do, in a documentary style.
Living in Durham with my partner Sarah, Son, Josh and 2 dogs. I started Scott Carney Photography in 2012 and have photographed over two hundred weddings since.
Over the years I have developed my style of photography and have always been drawn to people and the interactions that are unique to them. Weddings are fun and I photograph in a way I would want my own wedding photographed. In the wedding photos I take I want to show the fun, love, emotion and interactions between everyone.
Most photographers websites will mention words like a documentary, reportage and natural and of course every wedding has parts of the day; such as the ceremony that are always photographed in a documentary way. However, I believe that documentary coverage is not just part of the day, for me, it’s what weddings are all about.
Photographing in a truly candid way allows me to tell your story and not become part of it. The day is not about me, it’s about you, your friends, family and all the details that make your day yours. I concentrate on the natural moments with a passion for capturing the scene without affecting or controlling it.
