Sadly no longer a working farm, Ivy Cottage Farm dates back to the late 16th Century and is a traditional Yorkshire Dales farmhouse. Set just off the main street of this peaceful little village, it has stunning views to the rear of open countryside and the hills and moors; and to the front, the views stretch across the valley into Skipton with the hills and moors making a colourful backdrop to the town. Skipton is a thriving market town with regular street markets and festivals held on the cobbled High Street and in the 'Canal Basin'. With its medieval castle sitting proudly at the top of the High Street and colourful woods, walks and waterways to discover; it has many individual shops, bars and restaurants to delight and being the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, it provides easy access for travellers visiting and exploring the picturesque Dales' towns and villages further afield. The village of Carleton itself has its own 'village store' (open 7 days a week); a friendly village pub - The Swan Inn, serving food from lunchtime; delightful walks around the village and across the valley into Skipton. For all these reasons and many more we believe the cottages and The Granary provide the ideal base for those who to escape the 'hustle and bustle' of the town yet still have all the amenities close to hand.
