The beach at Polzeath is extensive with beach cafes and restaurants serving food all day. Hire facilities for deckchairs windbreaks, surfing equipment, with plenty of room for those who just enjoy sunbathing, nearby country club facilities offer golf, swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, beauty treatments and restaurant.
The owner of both properties is able to offer a very high standard of cleanliness, as they are nearby, and both properties have the benefit of double glazing and storage heating in all rooms. Both properties have been inspected and bed linen is provided. All organic produce including wines, beers, dairy fruit and vegetables, grocery can be pre-ordered.
The properties both have luxury beds, video/DVD libraries, widescreen 32 inch LCD TVs with Freeview and Freesat and plenty of books and tourist information, and for those who enjoy gardens, both cottages are close to the Eden Project which is only 18 miles away, as are many other beautiful National Trust gardens and historical buildings, and of course Padstow, where a visit to Rick Steins famous Seafood Restaurant or Bistro is a must and at Watergate Bay Jamie Olivers 15 Restaurant offers excellent cuisine. Port Quin is 3 miles away and Port Isaac 6 miles, where they filmed Doc Martin with Martin Clunes.
Stonechat Beach Cottage Stonechat a semi-detached beach cottage is situated in a quiet valley, 30 yards from the beach at Polzeath, ideally situated for surfing and other beach activity. Stonechat sleeps four plus a baby and has one double and one twin bedroom. Eden Project 40 minute drive and Padstow 1 hour walk or half hours drive away (Rick Steins Restaurant and Bistro and fish and chip takeaway).
On the opposite side of the valley are Shilla Mill Woods, ancient woodlands which are designated as being of outstanding local significance and which are referred to in several of Sir John Betjeman's poems. The little ancient church of St. Enodoc along the estuary is the setting for Betjeman's last resting place and is an hour walk from Stonechat.
Padstow just half hours drive or one hour walk and water taxi. Port Isaac where Doc Martin is filmed is a 15-minute drive and has some excellent pubs, beach bars and fish restaurants as well as takeaways. Wadebridge Leisure Centre 7 miles excellent gym and pool and all sports activities.
Pendragon Cottage Pendragon Cottage is made from a solid stone and has been converted from a 160-year-old barn on a non-working farm overlooking Bodmin Moor and the many moorland churches and also St. Breock HIlls. It is unbelievably quiet and peaceful and is an ideal base for touring all the North Cornish Coast. It has been converted to a high standard and has every comfort including a luxury bed, which will be made up for the tenant's arrival. The cottage has one large double bedroom, and two single mattresses on futon bases can be put in the lounge, either to make a double bed or two three-foot single beds or alternatively one mattress can be taken upstairs and used in the double bedroom.
The beaches of Polzeath (surfing and safe bathing) Daymer Bay (windsurfing), and Rock (sailing and fishing) are within 2.5 miles and PortQuin and Port Isaac (Doc Martin filmed here) within 5 miles. It is an area with an abundance of high-quality eateries all adding to wonderful surfing, beach, walking, golfing or just sitting and looking at the panoramic view holiday.
