Angela qualified in 1989 with a degree in Biological and Biochemical Science at Salford University and began a career in the pharmaceutical industry in clinical trials for new drugs. In 2011 Angela gave up her pharmaceutical career to focus more on her love of sport combined with the human body, its movements and the dysfunction of its movements and studied for the highest level Sports and Remedial Massage / Soft Tissue Therapy qualification in the UK (a Professional Diploma in Clinical Sport and Remedial Massage Therapy (Level 5) from the London School of Sport and Remedial Massage). To pass the course required a thorough knowledge of most of the muscles in the body, where they attach and their movements, multiple massage techniques (including Deep Tissue Massage, Soft Tissue Release, Friction, Muscle Energy Techniques - Post Isometric Relaxation and Reciprocal Inhibition, Neuromuscular techniques and Positional Release), stretching and strengthening exercises, Anatomy and Physiology and Rehabilitation plans. She qualified with the highest mark on her course in June 2012. Subsequently she set up Muscle Matters Massage as her Sports and Remedial Massage Treatment / Soft Tissue Therapy business.
