The family business, headed by Derek Pestridge, reopened part of the old site as MOT Express Ashford in June 2010 under the care of long-serving employee Alan Crawford, one of the most experienced MOT testers in the area. Alan has been in the motor trade for nearly 40 years and has been testing local vehicles for the best part of 25 years and has been with D&D Autos since February 1993. Alan is delighted to be at the helm of the Victoria Road business and offering a dedicated MOT service that is proving ideal for people who work in the town or who want to leave their car and pop in to do an hour's shopping. Some people think that garages are tempted to find problems just so that they can charge for putting them right. That's clearly not an issue for MOT Express as it doesn't have the facility to carry out repairs. The facility operates independently and even sends customers who need new tyres to a local supplier rather than to D&D Autos in Moat Way.
