These men, many of whom lost their lives in their quest, were known as plant hunters and without their valiant efforts the UK landscape of today may have looked wildly different and its iconic range of botanical gardens may never have existed. Despite differences in their mission, their destination and the type of plants they were searching for, all plant hunters had one thing in common: a belief in making plants the priority. Fast forward to the present day and whilst the vast majority of the globe’s plant species have been discovered, Paul Studholme, the modern-day plant hunter, remains committed to putting plants first by providing a plant-focused garden design and landscaping service.
