The last of these interests has become more important as links between physical health, mental well-being, relaxation and gardens becomes better understood and well documented. My designs range from large suburban family gardens to small courtyard entertaining spaces for couples, in both traditional and contemporary styles — and often a pleasing mix of both. The quality of my designs have been recognised at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show, where I was awarded both Silver-Gilt and Gold medals for my two show gardens, ‘The Green and Light Garden’ and ‘The Sadolin Four Seasons Garden’. Despite these being show gardens, destined to last just one glorious week in July, I gave myself the task of producing a design that could be translated to a ‘real’ garden, with interest that would last beyond summer and throughout the year.
