I graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, Scotland in 2006 with a BA Degree in Illustration and Printmaking. I have produced many different types of art and I am currently specialising in drawing pastel pet portraits. This website is to showcase my Pet Portraits but over the years I have undertaken various different types of work including Children’s Book Illustration. Life drawing, Fine Art and Illustration/Animation projects. Since leaving art school I have rediscovered my love of animals and I have found great pleasure in drawing furry creatures of all shapes and sizes! I live in Perthshire, Scotland with my little boys and surrounded by my beloved canine companions. The thing I love about doing pet portraits is the various different animals I get to draw which makes my job fascinating. No two animals are ever the same! In 2012 I gained the amazing acheivement of becoming an multi-award winning animal artist after two of my pieces won “Highly Commended” certificates through a competition held by the Association of Animal Artists, judged by celebrity artist judge Hazel Soan. I was over the moon and that was soon followed by my art being accepted for the Society of Equestrian Artists annual show in London in November 2012. It was a very successful and exciting year for me. I won a further 3 awards from a Gallery in New York, 1 in 2016 and and a further 2 in 2017, this time for sculpture. One of the pieces I won an award for was the first Raku sculpture I had ever created.
