Hi, I am Alison Marsden and I have gardened in Kent for more than 20 years, first in Sevenoaks and now in Southborough, near Tunbridge Wells, so I have worked with both acid sand and heavy clay soils. Gardeners are constantly learning and I love exploring new designs and planting ideas, always remembering that plants need to match the conditions that the garden offers of course. My formal gardening education started with the Royal Horticultural Society’s General Certificate many years ago and I continued to study plants and garden design. From 2010-12 I passed the two RHS Level 3 Theory Certificates and qualified as an adult education tutor. Whether in a formal classroom, a village hall talk or in a one-to-one conversation in your garden I combine horticultural science with practical experience to explain the Why as well as the How of gardening. You will not be ‘swamped by science’ but you will learn the key principles that turn frustration into success and enable you to go on gardening long after the session is over.
