A garden design is a starting point. We believe that the design and motivations need to be considered and strengthened throughout the construction. Beyond the initial build of a garden it is also imperative that the garden is constantly appraised so that the garden is always kept moving forward. It is always an honour to revisit a garden beyond its original design and construction. A great deal of a garden's initial realisation is made in the mud with hard physical work. So seeing a garden a couple of years later when the plants have softened all of those hard... Peter started his gardening career as Head Gardener at Pashley Manor Gardens which under his direction was voted best garden in 1999 by the Historic Houses Association. Peter along side Tom Marsh with English Heritage Gardens Ltd has been responsible for the revival and care of some of England's finest gardens — including Gravetye Manor, Pashley Manor and the BBC's Wood Norton.
