These feelings can be related to specific traumatic events in the past. They can be about present circumstances, or they can involve fears about the future. They can be in response to some specific challenges of everyday life. Or they can seem to be for no clear reason at all. As a psychotherapeutic counsellor, I aim to support people as they seek to improve their understanding of themselves and their relationships, as they try to make more sense of their uncomfortable thoughts and feelings, and find a calmer, more positive way of being. My approach involves the integration of a range of different approaches to psychotherapy which I believe are most effective. My support includes empathy, acceptance of people as they are, and a commitment to helping people explore their thoughts and feelings. I offer a safe and confidential space where people can work towards a better understanding of why they feel the way they do, at a pace that best suits them. I believe that greater understanding and acceptance of one’s self helps us to live the life we chose for ourselves.
