Barnes Electricians provide everything from full electrical schematic design and installation for new business premises, to repairs, upgrades and rewiring for existing commercial premises. All work is carried out with minimal disruption to your business. All electrical installation, addition or alteration work is carried out to BS7671 standards, to comply with the latest safety regulations, including Part ‘P’ of the Building Regulations, the Electricity Supply Regulations and the Electricity at Work Regulations.
A Compliance Certificate will be issued upon completion of the job, declaring it meets appropriate safety standards. This will either be an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) or a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate (MEIWC) which you should keep in a safe place.
Barnes Electricians offer both partial and full house rewiring services for all types of property, from flats to terraced houses and from period cottages to mansions. If your property has’nt been rewired in the last 20 years, rewiring will probably be necessary. This is both to ensure it complies with current safety standards, but also to allow you to take advantage of the latest electronic technology requiring more advanced electrics.
Barns Electricians can provide an initial appproximate rewiring cost based on the size and type of your home. For example, a full rewire of a 4-bed house will usually cost more than a 2-bed property. Similarly, rewiring a kitchen extension will not usually cost as much as a full property rewire.
A fixed price quote will require an onsite survey, which we can provide at no cost to you, so you’ll know the exact cost upfront and won’t be hit with any nasty surprises once work is completed. Rewiring services will also include new fuse boards along with certification of the installation on completion. Rest assured all work is carried out with minimal disruption and in accordance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
Partial rewiring for major refurbishments, such as garage, basement and loft conversions are defined as ‘material alterations’. New wiring for major renovations such as these, along with improvements to wiring in existing rooms to ensure it can safely carry additional loads, must be earthed and cross-banded to meet energy efficiency requirements e.g. central heating controls, to comply with Building Regulations.
