Acupuncture is a system of medicine used by the Chinese and other Eastern peoples for about 2500 years to restore, promote and maintain good health. Natural laws of balance and harmony are explained through the concepts of Yin and Yang, Qi (Energy, pronounced "chee"), the Five Elements, the Organ system and the Channels. Acupuncture points located along these channels allow the practitioner to tap into the body's energy and enhance it's natural healing capabilities. In China today acupuncture is used in conjunction with what we know as "conventional" medicine for both acute and chronic conditions.
