At our last RCVS inspection in 2013 we again passed our inspection as a Veterinary Hospital. In 2015 we took the difficult decision, to improve the work life balance for our staff, we would allow our night duty staff to leave the premises provided that there were no in-patients overnight. We have a member of nursing staff on site at all times when there are any animals in the hospital under our care. Unfortunately the RCVS Practice Standards insist that a member of staff is on the premises at all times; even if there are no in-patients. We felt that this had no baring on thee quality of care that we provide but please be assured that NOTHING else has changed If an animal is admitted for treatment there will always be a member of staff on the premises 24/7 - even on Christmas Day! We have still remained in the RCVS Practice Standard Scheme and are now listed as a Small Animal Practice. We like to support the Practice Standards Scheme and would urge anyone to ensure the level of cover (especially out of hours) given to their pets if they are admitted to any practice for treatment, particularly if they are not a hospital. You can still contact us be telephone in person 24/7 and we still ensure a member of staff stays on the premises for all animals admitted for treatment by the practice. We have also upgraded our fire and intruder alarm system (ADT monitored) and we do now have several members of staff living next door at 146.
