Chiropractic is a health profession that helps to treat and prevent mechanical disorders of the Musculoskeletal System. This is to help keep the nervous system functioning correctly to help improve health and well being. People of all ages can benefit. Chiropractors work on all the joints of the body, especially the spine. They use their hands to make often gentle, specific adjustments (the chiropractic word for manipulation) to improve the efficiency of the nervous system and release the body's natural healing ability. All chiropractors are registered by law under the Chiropractors Act 1994. The profession is regulated through the General Chiropractic Council (GCC).
