After serving my apprenticeship I trained at the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh and later worked as a Head Gardener with the National Trust for Scotland. I established Wild at Heart Gardening in 1996. The alpine meadows of the Alps and the stylistic simplicity of Japanese Gardens are a particular source of inspiration. As a plantsman gardener, my skill is selecting the ideal plants for whatever conditions exist in your garden — be it dry or damp, sunny or shady… or a combination of all four.
