My name is Liz and I am a fully qualified swimming instructor, having gained my swimming teaching qualifications through the STA. Swimming has always been a large part of my life and a skill I have always enjoyed. I started swimming lessons at a young age for Lincoln Vulcans and swam competitively for both club and county in Lincolnshire. I later combined swimming and my love of running to compete in biathlons in Lincoln, becoming the national schools champion in this sport. My love of swimming continued into my older years, where I trained and worked as a lifeguard for Yarborough leisure centre near Lincoln where I studied physiotherapy at university. I still work as a physiotherapist and pilates teacher, and also run baby massage and yoga classes in Lincoln. I have taught both of my two children to swim and we regularly enjoy a swim in the pool together as a family. Swimming is a great skill to have - not only does it build confidence and self-esteem but it is hugely important for water safety and survival. Ultimately it allows children to have fun!
