UK Yacht Surveyors' principal surveyor is Jonathan Massey, professionally trained at the world-renowned International Boatbuilding and Training College (IBTC), Lowestoft, where he passed with Distinction. An Accredited member of the Yacht Designers & Surveyors Association(YDSA), Member of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects (RINA), Full member of British Marine Surveyors Europe (BMSE) and Accredited Coding Surveyor for the YDSA and MECAL Certifying Authorities. Jonathan is appointed by leading insurance companies to carry out Damage Surveys around the UK and Europe. An ex-Royal Navy submarine navigator with over 35,000 miles experience skippering yachts, Jonathan has a commercially-endorsed Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate. With a degree in mechanical engineering, experience as a superyacht manager and many years running a large manufacturing business, Jonathan is able to provide professional and practical advice based on experience and good judgement, taking into account the client's experience and plans.
