The owner and driving force behind TWUp is Tony Wright. Tony has spent the last 30 years working within the various skills required to produce and maintain classic furniture. In 1976 he started work at Hille Int. where he completed his City & Guilds Diploma within a five year apprenticeship in Traditional Upholstery & Soft Furnishing specialising in Contemporary Designer Furniture. Then at the age of 22 in 1981 TW started his own business setting up an Upholstery Workshop in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire continuing to build on his experience of the traditions and intricacies of many classic furniture genres. By 1984 he had developed working relationships with the likes of Knoll Int., Sunar Hausman and Atrium and European Furniture Design companies. By 2000 TW had developed a work force of fellow minded and skilled upholstering personnel to form the basis of the current TWUp enterprise. Now with a solid understanding and large satisfied customer base TWUp particularly enjoys working with the often smaller individual specialised projects as well as the demands of the larger commercial contracts.
