For my sins I have been in this exciting business of vintage home interiors for too long to remember. Back in the day, I was your bog standard antique dealer - but as fashions change and evolve, economic climates rise and fall, people’s wants and needs change. I hope I can say I have changed with them…. My inspiration is the town I live in, the array of interesting people that I have met and who have bought my wares. For want of a better word my style is eclectic. I buy a mix of different eras and styles that hopefully, when put together, create a comfortable lived in look. I like to up-cycle, to bring use back to an item that may have been defunct beforehand. We live in a time of recycling and flea market style is very much sought after. My painted pieces are influenced by the seaside - which I love - and the fishermen’s cottages which have been so lovingly restored in Deal. I also love to buy things that have a history, so you feel you are buying something that has been used, loved and has a story.
