Before bringing West Dorset Wedding Flowers to life, Jessie founded and ran her own floral boutique The Poundbury Florist for almost 10 years from August 2006 to the end of 2015, and won the ultimate accolade 'The UK Flower Shop of the Year' award 2011-12, along with a string of wedding industry awards; "The best thing about my job is the number of different people I meet, and the many varied and different ideas they have. Every wedding should be unique, however large or small, and I get huge satisfaction from interpreting a bride's tentative list of likes and dislikes, to create the perfect floral fit for them. My personal preference is for a very natural loosely-styled effect, with a strong use of tendrils, a range of natural textures, and - working within the seasons -local-sourced foliages, from rosehips and larch boughs, to spring blossoms, sedge grasses and autumnal seedheads. If I had the choice, every bride's bouquet would be slightly over-sized and conspicuously opulent! My distinct eye for colour enables me to create eye-catching and interesting palettes with a natural lean towards antique, muted and unique spectrums.
