I set up The Pink Cake Box in 2010, initially just creating cupcakes for birthdays and celebrations (all given out in pink cake boxes, hence the name!) I quickly moved on to 'big cakes' and would stay up all night playing with bits of icing until it did what I wanted it to / the crazy vision I had in my head! (Literally all night!) All of my skills are self taught which I believe makes my designs unique and original. I've always had a passion for baking from a young age with my dad at our family home. A firm favourite was the malteaser cake which was chocolate cake layered up with oodles of cream and malteasers and a fudgey chocolate icing on top.. it was seriously amazing! We would always look forward to our birthdays to see what creative cake he had made for us, I still think the classic fairy-tale princess pink castle with icecream cone turrets when I was 4 is my favourite, but closely followed by Winnie the Pooh's 'Happy Bee-day' at 5!
