Over the past few years I have gradually increased my responsibilities with the non-profit Foundation responsible for preserving Dr. Hammer’s work and so had less and less time to work in the clinic. Taking a break from private practice was a difficult but natural and inevitable step for me. The most difficult thing about taking that step has been the fact that I will miss all of the people I have met through my practice: wonderful people that I have had the pleasure of spending time with over these years, laughing together, and sometimes crying together. Sharing part of someone’s journey is a tremendous privilege, a privilege that has helped me grow in ways I could never have imagined when I first started out all those years ago. I have no doubt that I will be back in practice before too long, but for now I need to follow a different pathway. It is my greatest hope that everyone I have had the pleasure of knowing, and those I have not met, all continue toward a better, healthier life.
