Since moving to Wroxton in 1979, Rita Hodges has become renowned for her magnificent cooking and beautiful presentation. It was upon these two principles that The Food Workshops was founded. Rita's cooking draws upon her artistic background, creative energy and the cuisine of a number of inspirational chefs. Born into an artistic family, the daughter of Swiss artist Albert Eger, Rita met her husband Nicholas Hodges while studying fine art at the University of Newcastle. Rita's own artwork is as revered as her culinary talents, with ongoing regular commissions taking up any spare time away from the kitchen. Anyone who has eaten one of Rita's meals can testify that artistic flare is an exciting and integral part of The Food Workshops' cuisine. With a constant appetite for experimentation and creation in the kitchen, and continuing studies into the work of her culinary heroes such as Yotam Ottolenghi and Rick Stein, Rita's talents are constantly evolving. Having designed cakes and party menus for countless gastronomic occasions, from large events to intimate dinner parties, Rita's reputation for culinary excellence is being enhanced every day, spreading to a wider audience through a growing network of happy clients.
