The atmospheric, candlelit restaurant provides seating for 40 diners. There is a second dining room with seating for a further 25 and — weather permitting — a very attractive south facing walled beer garden for meals in summer. The Douglas Hotel menu is varied and updated regularly. Chalk board specials are based on seasonally produced fish, meat and vegetables. Dishes are prepared During the summer and autumn months, a good proportion of the fruit and vegetables on the menu is grown in local gardens. This produce is also used to make many of the preserves and chutneys that appear on the menu. The menu features an extensive choice of freshly made sweets, both traditional and modern, and a variety of home made ice-creams. Home-made bread and preserves feature on the menu. The home made jams and chutneys are available to buy in the hotel restaurant or reception.
