On a day out in the winter of 2004, Andrew and Sue Marshall spotted a tiny shop that was available to rent, decided to take it and then opened in April 2005. Andrew and Sue Marshall moved to the Lake District in 1997 with their 4 young sons as Andrew was working as a Shoe Agent for the North of England and Scotland. The shoe trade has been Andrews' life for over 40 years. His family has been in the shoe trade since 1904 and now one of his sons is carrying on the tradition working as an Agent. On a day out in the winter of 2004, Andrew and Sue Marshall spotted a tiny shop that was available to rent, decided to take it and then opened in April 2005. Strolling 4 Shoes first opened its doors in the busy market town of Keswick in the Lake District attracting a hoard of shoe hungry Cumbrian customers! The reception that they received encouraged them to have another day out and they opened another branch in Penrith.
