The course is extremely resilient and St Bees members can be seen golfing on days when other golfers aren’t able to play because their courses are closed due to adverse conditions. Invariably members play off the fairways and not mats through the winter and there are no winter greens in use. Membership offers excellent value for money given that golfers can play all year round. Short game practice facilities offer golfers the opportunity to hone wedge play chipping, pitching and putting. Competitions take place every week and new members are always made to feel welcome so long as they can take a joke!
