Having always handled fabrics as a child, I relished the opportunity to use clay, paint, textiles and constructions whilst studying for a teaching degree in Art, Craft and Design. I am a freelance artist with Arts Care Gofal Celf and I currently work part time with disadvantaged adults and undertake school and community art projects. I enjoy facilitating groups to engage in the making process. I have developed my own style of work alongside residencies and have exhibited at the Kooywood Gallery, Cardiff; The Washington Gallery, Penarth; Fountain Fine Art, Llandeilo and Art Matters, Tenby as well as other venues in West Wales. A fusion of textiles, paint, packaging, beads, recycled materials and sentimental remnants from my own and my children`s early years are used in the mixed media pieces, while “Y Gymraes / Teulu ” (Welsh Lady / Family) pieces incorporate kitchen utensils, vintage fabric and sculpted wire, reflecting the fun and frustrations of home life (I have two teenagers).
