Shirley has been creating and designing jewellery since 1995. Having studied at Cardonald college in Glasgow for a NC and a HND in Jewellery and Silversmithing, she graduated in 2001 from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee with a B Des (Hons) Degree In Jewellery and Metalwork. Shirley now lives in Oban running the Shop Scottish Island Jewellery with her Husband Richard, taking commissions and Repairs. Shirley and Richard also offer a remodelling service. This usually involves the customer providing gem set jewellery which is Carefully dismantled and reworked into contemporary rings, pendants and earrings. The new pieces retain the sentimental value of the gemstones or metal. Customers are encouraged to be involved in the design process, which often results in a completely unique piece being created.
