The Rowberry name has been synonymous with Swansea retail for over 100 years and five generations. In 1898 Mr Aueurin Rowberry relocated his footwear and cobblers business from Llandilo to the Port Tennant area of Swansea. As his business expanded his wife Elsie and their two sons Lionel and John became involved, a trait that continues to this day with subsequent members of the Rowberry family. The current business was established in 1965 by Mr & Mrs Jones (Aueurins granddaughter) in a tiny footwear store on Danigraig Road, only a stones throw from where we now trade. Ever since, their business has gone from strength to strength, borne from word of mouth recommendations and industry wide acclaim. In 1976 they spotted a gap in the market and opened a fashion shop with ladies occasion wear plus casual-cruise and special events wear, offering a large stock of leading designer clothes. With the continuing growth of the business it was decided in 1995 that Rowberry fashion and footwear should moved to a much larger premises. This presented the opportunity to open our current Bridal department — a dream salon which offers beautiful, relaxed and spacious surroundings to make your choice of the ideal gown, with help and advice from our professional staff.
