Jack Nicklaus (born 1940). Also known as The Golden Bearâ€, Jack Nicklaus is considered the greatest golf player of all times. In his 46-year-long professional career, The Golden Bear†won as many as 18 major championships and 73 wins in PGA Tour events. In total, he has 115 professional wins. In 1974, Nicklaus was also inducted into the World Golf of Fame. One year later, he was awarded the Bob Jones Award which is the highest recognition by the United States Golf Association (USGA), while the PGA Tour gave him the Payne Steward Award in 2000 and the PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008. Sam Snead (1912-2002). The American golfer dominated professional golf for over four decades and went into history as one of the most successful golfers of all times. From 1934 when he turned professional to 1987 when he retired, he won 83 PGA Tour events which is more than any other golfer in history. He also won 7 major championships and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974. Four years before his death, Snead was also given the PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award.
