Rachel teaches piano and music theory to around 50 students per week. Lessons, which are on a one-to-one basis, take place at her home in Maidenhead. Children may start as early as four years old, and Rachel also caters for adult learners. With all lessons, the emphasis is on playing for enjoyment, and developing a wide range of musical skills. Exam preparation is offered, as are a variety of performance opportunities, ranging from an annual pupil concert and participation in music festivals, to Brownie and Cub musician badges. Rachel has a BA(Hons) in music, and a DipMus from the Open University; the Certificate of Teaching from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (CTABRSM); and Associate of Music from Trinity College London (AMusTCL). She also has grade 8 piano, grade 8 singing, and grade 8 music theory. A firm believer in practicing what she teaches, Rachel continues her own studies, and is currently studying for piano and singing diplomas.
