The practice was started in 1977 in a small end-of-terrace house in Commercial Road, Paddock Wood by John McCaig; converted from a previous cobbler’s shop. The surgery consisted of a small waiting room, one consulting room and an operating room. The practice rapidly expanded. Eryl Davies became a partner in 1987, the next two houses in the terrace were bought and a new waiting room and recovery room were built. This arrangement was not ideal and there was very little room for car parking so in 1990 the practice bought Putlands Farm house, barn and farm out buildings (all grade II listed) By Easter 1992 we moved into the sympathetically converted small animal surgery. The horse stalls were also converted into a large animal surgery with an examination room, operating theatre and four loose boxes. In the summer of 2016 we joined CVS (UK) Ltd and now operates as part of this larger group of veterinary practices and veterinary service providers.
