My a ccountancy career began in 1995 when I joined a small firm Andrew Moore & Co in my native Sudbury, Suffolk as a trainee. I was later lured to the bright lights of London and the city firm of Thorne Lancaster where I qualified as an ACCA in 1999. A weekend visit to Brighton introduced me to the many charms of the city and the surrounding countryside, and I made the move south to the coast six months later in 2000. After nearly a decade with local firm Clamp Boxall, as a manager and subsequently as a partner I decided to set up my own practice. My goal with Peters Associates is to offer the kind of personal service that larger firms are unable or unwilling to provide. I firmly believe that successful business relationships start with knowing and understanding the people behind the business. This is why I will always be happy to come and visit you at your offices or home and spend time finding out more about your business, your problems and your goals. I particular enjoy working with and mentoring new start-ups, and it gives me a great deal of personal satisfaction to play a part in helping people realise their business dreams. When I’m not working I seek inspiration and relaxation outdoors and particularly enjoy mountain biking and climbing. My most recent expedition took me to the Alps and an attempt to climb the highest peak in Europe, Mt Blanc. Unfortunately health problems meant we had to turn back about an hour from the summit, despite perfect climbing conditions. My partner Sally recently gave birth to our first child Samuel David, which has put an abrupt end to weekend lie ins. I am looking forward to introducing him to life in the mountains just as soon as he is old enough to carry a backpack.
