He has been in the Financial Services industry for 41 years, having been a City management accountant for 12 years, then an independent financial adviser for 29 years, arranging mortgages, life assurance, pensions, annuities and investments. He then set up his legal services practice in 2009, specialising in wills and trusts, powers of attorney and probate, as well as care home fees mitigation and pre-paid funeral plans, and now looks after 570 clients. In more recent years, realising the growing mortgage, credit card and loan repayment problems of many retired borrowers, he made the decision to study, sit and qualify for the equity release examinations of the Chartered Insurance Institute, despite a workload of typically 80 hours a week in running his legal services practice.
