The jewellery shop was designed by Owen Smart Senior who served in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. He served in the Middle East, Sicily and Italy, which gave him the idea of the decorative interior of the shop. Being an aircraft instrument inspector he repaired and serviced watches for the personnel. This is how it all started. The shop itself was opened in London Road In Kettering in November 1959. The business was carried on after Owen’s death by Dennis Owen Smart. Dennis is a qualified Fellow of the Gemmological Association and also holds the Gemmological Association Diamond Certificate. He brings a huge amount of gemological experience and knowledge to the job and offers a service that is second to none in the Northants area.
