Alex started studying psychology based subjects in 2000 when working with people who live with physical and learning disabilities at a Day Centre. Alex's work in care inspired him to write an 'Hierarchy of Needs in Care & Support'. Alex worked as a volunteer with Contact Mental Health Group in Morpeth from 2005 till 2010 offering Counselling and personal development workshops. He also worked as a volunteer counsellor with Escape Family Support from 2006 till 2007 for people effected by alcohol and substance dependency. It was during this time that Alex worked with both victims and perpetrators of serious crime which has contributed greatly to his perspective on human nature. Alex started Actualisation Resource Counselling and Certification(Arcc) in 2006 offering workshops and distance learning for subjects of a spiritual or philosophical theme. It was the intention of Arcc to emphasise ethics for practitioners that work with potentially vulnerable people. In 2011 Arcc became "Plessey Castle Academic" and offers acknowledgement for learning with their very own PCAc in house awards.
