Mass-produced iron beds are often imported from outside the UK. These cheaper iron beds don’t tend to stand the test of time. Once they’ve been taken apart and reassembled a few times, the joints loosen; poles bow and shear; and fixings and slats can break (as many of us will have experienced!).
