I live on the outskirts of a small Devonshire village, which can be found right in the heart of England’s Blackdown Hills. Situated behind my house is a barn, which I converted into my workshop, allowing me to be close to both my family and my work. I live with my wife, two beautiful daughters, two cats and Smudge - our family dog. Throughout my life I have sought ways to express my creativity; however it hasn’t always been through designing and making bespoke furniture. Eight years ago you were more likely to find me sitting behind a desk, rather than making one. Then I was running a leading digital advertising and marketing agency in London, creating campaigns for global companies across four continents. Although I enjoyed this position, the difference I was able to make and the benefits if afforded me, I felt that something was missing in my life. After lots of soul searching and discussions with my wife, we decided life was too short not follow one’s dream. I have always been very practical and making things with my hands, but I believe in having proper training. So, I enrolled at the Building Crafts College, in London, on their Fine Woodworking Diploma course and went back to college full time for 2 years.
