In addition to my private practices in Glastonbury & Yeovil, Somerset, I also practised for 20 years within the National Health Service at a G.P. practice, as part of an award-winning Integrated Medicine Project. I have written and lectured widely in my field to both lay and professional audiences. Between 2004 & 2006 I served as President of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists, the leading and longest established body of professional herbalists in the Western world. I also served on the European Herbal & Traditional Medicine Practitioners Association. I also acted as a representative of Western Herbal Medicine on the Department of Health Working Group on the Statutory Regulation of Herbal Medicine & Acupuncture. This committee's report to the government has led to the forthcoming Statutory Regulation of herbal medicine, which will at last provide legal status for professional herbal practitioners.
