He brings a professional, knowledgeable and courteous approach to his consultancy including value assessments, provenance research, restoration and quality framing. Royston Fisher was born in Hornchurch, Essex in 1930. After initial employment in a London Merchant Bank, followed by the Chase Manhattan Bank USA, he then joined the London Buying office of the famous Macy’s New York Department Store Group. A fascinating career spanning 37 years involved extensive purchasing of antiques and paintings, ceramics, metal wares and furniture from factories, salerooms and shops widely distributed throughout the UK, Scotland, Ireland and France. Their destination was to be specialist antique departments within New York, Atlanta, San Francisco, Portland Oregan, Cleveland, St Louis, Pittsburgh and Kansas. On taking early retirement in 1987, Royston decided to pursue his love of pictures by starting Monopteros Fine Art. Subsequently he has held over 30 exhibitions in Richmond, the Chalfonts, Berkhamsted and Chesham showcasing various artists work of largely 19th & 20th century origin, selling close to 900 paintings.
