We have been members of Federal Masters of Builders (FMB) since 2006 and have been Masterbond accredited for the same period. We have successfully passed the accreditation tests three times. Over the years we have established an excellent clientele base and continue to have repeat custom from clients and their family and friends. My enthusiasm for the building trade is inspired by a long family history. My Great Grandfather, William Sneddon, was a furnace bricklayer at the Eglinton Ironworks in Kilwinning in 1892. My Grandfather Martin served his time as a bricklayer in 1920 and his son Martin (my Father) served his time as a bricklayer in 1954. Following on with the family tradition in 1976 I came into the building trade as a bricklayer serving my time with William McClure of Irvine. However it doesn’t quite end there in further keeping with the family tradition my son, who is also called Martin, joined the trade in 1999 and served his time with me. In 1984 I went self-employed as a subcontracting bricklayer travelling around the central belt working for various large house builders and in design and build projects. In 2002 we took a new direction from direct bricklaying duties as subcontractors and formed our own builders business and have since had a very successful run.
