Established 40 years ago by Sensei Tommy Till 3rd Dan, Malvern has grown into one of the most successful clubs within the KUGB, with a number of our members training, grading and competing regularly, winning many titles along the way, and one of the highlights being that in 2013 four of our members were selected to compete in the WSKA World Championships in Liverpool. In 2009 the club was passed over to Chris Cray and continues develop and maintain the high standards that were set by Tommy. Malvern has two types of classes at Dovecot. Our 7-year-old and above class runs 4 times per week under Chris Cray, 3rd Dan, in addition to the 4—6 year old class introduced in March 2013 to help develop younger children in Karate, taught 2 times per week by KUGB England Kata Squad member, Sam Stuart, 3nd Dan. Recently we have added more classes to allow more people to participate and welcoming lots of newcomers to the club. We now also have nights at Halewood Leisure Centre and at Holly Lodge Girls School, both on a Tuesday and Thursday. Due to demand, as of 2018 we have opened new classes at Walton Hall Sports and Well-Being Centre on Mondays and Wednesdays.
