A brief history m m carpentry was established in 2001 by Michael MacVean. Michael had an early appreciation of woodwork at school and went on to study Three-Dimensional Design at University. Achieving a first class honors degree, Michael then worked for Stewart Linfords in High Wycombe. Here, traditional methods and materials are used to make furniture of the highest quality. Following this, he continued his studies with an MA in Furniture Design at Buckinghamshire University. During this course he picked up the ASFI design award for a modular desking system. After this Michael worked at Thomas Heatherwick Studio in London. Whilst here he worked on a range of public art and architectural projects. Since forming m m carpentry he has continued to use his design and making skills to fulfill projects from everyday carpentry to bespoke joinery.
