As a little girl in the 70's I was always excited to watch as the neighbours came visiting Mum for a little hair trim or a home perm and the house was full of chatter and laughter and the whiff of peroxide! I just knew that when I grew up I wanted to be just like Mum. Today I have my own private salon at home in Cheshire. I love what I do and it’s wonderful to be able to work from home in the quiet setting of my converted garden room. I’ve come a long way from the 15 yr old apprentice desperate to learn how Crazy Colour worked, to today being privileged to be both the chosen hair stylist for my lovely regular client base as well as being sought after by brides to make them look perfect on their big day. I started competitive hairdressing and In 2006 won 1st place at the regional and national level. At the same time I embarked on a whole new challenge to become a hairdressing lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University and I now hold the Assessors Award (A1) and a teaching degree (QTLLS). Training young up and coming talent is hugely challenging and provides a lot of variety to my working week, one minute I could be teaching futuristic cuts to college students and the next I am rehearsing a vintage romantic look with a bride to be!
