Group Captain Brian Kingcome DSO, DFC & Bar led No. 92 Squadron during the Battle of Britain and remained in active service until retiring in 1954. After marrying in 1957, Brian and Lesley found business success in London, where Lesley’s passion for beautiful upholstery and her unique concept of made to measure sofas and armchairs led to the creation of Kingcome Sofas. Kingcome’s made to measure and bespoke sofas and chairs soon took their place at the forefront of the upholstered luxury furniture sector. Quality and longevity were paramount from the outset, and thanks to the skill and determination of its loyal workforce in its Devon workshop, Kingcome cemented its place as a British institution, supplying its custom made and bespoke sofas to private customers and interior designers worldwide.
