At the Janet Ashton School of Dance, we provide excellent dance training to students, covering a wide range of dance styles, while maintaining a professional & reliable approach. The Janet Ashton School of Dance was founded in 1957 by Lincoln girl, Janet Ashton and has been going from strength to strength ever since. Many former pupils have gone on to professional theatrical performing careers, while others have opened their own schools of dance around the UK. Many former students now send their own children and grandchildren to enjoy dance classes at the school. 2016/17 celebrated the 40th anniversary of the 'Janet Ashton Babes', a legacy of which we are extremely proud. The school was first asked to provide children for the pantomime ‘Aladdin’ in 1976/77, following the re-opening of the Theatre Royal in Lincoln. Over the years, hundreds of children have danced on the theatre stage as part of the 'Janet Ashton Babes' and, even as adults, this still holds a special place in their hearts. Miss Alison was one of the original ‘Babes’ (at the tender age of 7) and, as a teacher, continued to be involved with the pantomime through the coaching and preparation of the 'Babes'.
